Owner & Founder

Charles Rushman, CPA

Charles's expertise was forged on the "front lines" of real estate asset management. As the Controller for VareCo, a vertically integrated firm with over 3,000 units, he was hired to clean up the "messy books" left by rapid growth and inadequate processes. He led a complete technological and financial turnaround, slashing month-end reconciliation time from 30 days to 3 , cutting property close time from 20 days to 8 , and reducing per-unit accounting costs by 40%. This hands-on experience turning what was once a glaring weakness into a strength now serves as the blueprint for 20 Mile Consulting.

Charles built his expertise in technology optimization, financial statement cleanup, and cost-savings initiatives during his time in corporate accounting and internal audit at Nestle and Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and later managing the P&L for an $80 million division. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from UNLV and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Wisconsin and a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).

Jordan Van Dijk

Jordan’s experience and knowledge were built in the trenches of real estate management. Hired as a financial analyst for VareCo to review and audit monthly statements and build dashboards to track KPIs. He transitioned to rebuilding the in-house accounting team from the ground up. Consolidated the accounting software and property management into one for a streamlined month end process, built a property tax dashboard to properly accrue for taxes cutting the accrues for properties up to 30% on a yearly basis, trained 2 staff accountant, completed security deposit audits on the 2100 units portfolio, trueing up both the liability and cash account, was lead in budget creation for over 20 properties, and built out a FP&A software to combine property level books with both corporate and construction books for high level KPI automated tracking.
